Wishing You Well Foundation provides access to drug free treatments for children with learning disorders.  We are raising the initial capital needed to treat children with ADHD, ADD and children with high functioning Autism this 2009/2010 year.  We would like you to partner with us on this venture.    

5-7% of children are diagnosed with ADD or ADHD.  There are many unreported cases as well.  This is the most common diagnosed behavioral disorder.  The two main established treatments are medications and behavioral modification.  Although the medication does work in just under 70% of cases, it only works as long as the child takes the medication.  It does not help significantly with improvement in academic scores.  There are long term side effects and because 50% of children carry traits of ADHD into adulthood, they will most likely be on medication for life.  Behavior modification techniques are helpful in that they help families cope with an ADHD child, however, neither the medications or the modification techniques work at making permanent changes/ improvements in the child.

Autism Spectrum disorders is one of the fastest growing disorders.  20 years ago, about 1 in 10,000 were diagnosed with the disorder.  Today about 1 in 150 children is diagnosed with Autism.  Boys are afflicted with the disorder more than girls – about 1 in 94 boys are affected.  There is no medication that is known to help with this disorder.  Much of the research supports early intervention with these children.  The earlier intervention begins, the more profound the results from treatments. 

There is no one treatment that is a “cure all” for these disorders.  Many alternative treatments have cured a percentage of children from the above disorders, but not enough large scale research projects have been done.  The therapies we use are not new.  Studies of the individual therapies have been done on a small scale.  We find that if we can combine therapies that we will get escalated results and get major changes if not cures in ADD, ADHD and high functioning ASD’s, such as Asperger’s.
